Smartpath becomes member of The Institute of Asset Management UK

Smartpath has been accepted as a member into the United Kingdoms Institute of Asset Management (IAM) furthering industry recognition of our asset management experience and competency.

The Institute of Asset Management (IAM) is the cross industry forum for advancing good practices in physical asset management.  It is the leading independent organisation for professionals dedicated to furthering knowledge and understanding of Asset Management. In particular the IAM provides  good practice methodology development and provides decision support tools and techniques.

The management of physical assets (their selection, maintenance, inspection and renewal) plays a key role in determining the operational performance and profitability of industries that operate assets as part of their core business. Asset Management is the art and science of making the right decisions and optimising these processes.

The Institute of Asset Management has the following broad aims:

  • To advance the knowledge and understanding of Asset Management.
  • To represent and promote asset life-cycle management at national and international levels.
  • To provide an international forum for the transfer of Asset Management best practice between Industries, Engineers, Academic Institutions, Consultants, and Vendors.
  • To raise the professional standing of IAM members.
  • To provide guidance about the relationship between asset management and other company operations, in particular maintenance.
